On March 17, Donor Day was held in the Main (Red) Building of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – an event that once again demonstrated the unity and compassion of our university community. This joint initiative with the Kyiv Municipal Blood Center became a powerful act of support for those who are defending our independence today. In a single day, participants collected 15 liters of blood – the amount capable of saving over a hundred lives, as each donation offers a chance at survival for two or three defenders.
The campaign’s name «Your Blood Can Fight» is no coincidence. These words, first painted by Kharkiv artist Gamlet Zinkivskyi on the wall of a shelled building, have become a true manifesto of the national blood donation movement. Today, students and faculty at KNU proved that this symbol is alive and effective. Everyone who participated in the drive made an invaluable contribution to our shared victory.
The organizers would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate and demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility. This campaign is not just a medical event, but an important step in fostering a culture of mutual support at our university. Such acts of solidarity remind us that the strength of our community stems from our compassion, and that every donor becomes part of a great mission that saves lives both on the front lines and in the rear.
