On May 20, a hands-on tactical medicine training took place at the Red Building of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, conducted by instructors from the 1st Separate Special Forces Unit “Omega.”
Participants — students and university staff — had the opportunity to learn the basics of providing pre-medical care in combat and emergency situations. The program included a brief theoretical session based on the MARCH algorithm, a demonstration of the basic components of a medical kit, and practical exercises simulating scenarios involving critical injuries.
A total of 30 participants took part in the training. Special attention was given to vital skills such as applying tourniquets, wound packing, casualty evacuation, and working with combat trauma mannequins.
We sincerely thank the instructors of the “Omega” unit for their professional training, high level of organization, and the valuable knowledge they shared with our participants. We also extend our gratitude to all attendees for their active engagement, commitment, and willingness to master life-saving skills.
The event was held with the support of the Center for Social Development of the University.
