On November 21, our university held a meeting for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which made everyone reflect on the importance of support, understanding and creating an inclusive environment. We were discussing how to make the world accessible for everyone and were listening to incredibly sincere stories from people who are changing reality through their actions.

We discussed:
• Real stories of creating inclusive workplaces and socially responsible businesses.
• Experience in supporting veterans and helping them adapt to civilian life.
• An inspirational example of a café owner where people with Down syndrome and mental disabilities work.
• A frank conversation with some of the representatives of the Association of Azovstal Defenders’ Families.
• The story of a former prisoner of war about returning to normal life and the challenges that accompanied him.
Besides, our students had a unique opportunity to pose questions to the speakers, share their own thoughts and discuss how each of us can contribute to creating a barrier-free world.
This meeting has become another step towards uniting all of us in a shared pursuit of equality, mutual understanding and support.
We thank everyone who joined us and would like to remind you again: inclusion starts with all of us.
